This session with cover the energy resilience and national Smart Cities movement which is focused on the outcomes of sustainability and operational efficiencies using innovation, community engagement, and a connected ecosystem. Smart Cities harness data from smart devices, networks, cloud infrastructure, and applications and analytics to develop new insights and management systems. Attendees with learning about Robotic Process Automation enablers for Smart Cities and finding the Money for Smart City Implementation (PPP’s) and the Smart City platforms as a key mechanism to integrate smart technologies, enable the rapid delivery of new applications, and create a connected Smart City ecosystem and how this can be leveraged within the federal community.)

Hossam is the founder of Engineering Maintenance Solutions, Inc. and he is a Senior Technology Engineer at NORESCO.
Hossam’s background includes 30 years’ experience in engineering and building operations for several global and regional companies. Hossam enjoys a successful career as an energy engineer. He leads strategic identification, development and implementation of comprehensive energy strategies, programs, policies and procedures to support the Army’s short- and long-term goals.
Hossam has initiated and developed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC), an over $100 million-dollar project consisting of waste to energy plants, advanced metering, DDC controls, lighting /solar PV carport and a PPA 15MW solar system. Hossam conducts energy audits, develops and implements energy savings project to coordinate with DPW and CEHNC regarding the potential Energy Conservation Investment Program (ECIP). ENGMNTSOL is working with SCE and developed Utility Energy Savings Contracts (UESC) along with ESTCP and DOE as other alternative financing vehicles. He assists with development and implementation of the Energy Implementation Plan and the Energy Master Plan for a U.S. government facility to pave the path forward to meet energy conservation goals set forth by the United States Army.
Hossam is certified as a Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE) in the State of California. He is also a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Certified as Master’s Level Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCPM) Program, Certified Demoned Saving Manager and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C). Hossam is certified with the Refrigeration Service Engineering Society (in Compliance with E.P. A. standards), California UST System Operator, ISO 9002 certification and Sick Building Syndrome. He is also a member of ASHRAE, AEE, ASME, NFPA and AWCI.
The focus of this presentation is to feature a progressive California military base with existing and future applications of energy, water and waste efficiencies in support of achieving the future plan of NetZero.
The featured solutions will educate the audience how success has been achieved through proper engineering and application of emerging technologies with an understanding of how the existing buildings operate by using M&V tools and resources. Applied conservation strategies will be discussed and featured throughout the base on energy and water usage reduction.
