Stephen Beck has been an energy industry professional for over 25 years. He has considerable experience assisting commercial, industrial and institutional clients manage cost and risk. His résumé includes a well-rounded chronology that represents stops in all corners of the energy industry.
Early on, his career started at OmniComp, a ground-breaking energy information firm. From there, he held a prominent role with Enron during the early periods of deregulation managing large, complex relationships. Afterwards, he rounded out his practice working at PECO Energy and gaining critical public utility knowledge. Later, he returned to his deregulated energy supply roots and helped grow Strategic Energy’s footprint in the Northeast. Strategic Energy was eventually acquired by Direct Energy and he continued to grow his breadth of knowledge by expanding his client base to national clients. Mr. Beck gained considerable know-how in the distributed generation and sustainability arena as a General Manager with Doosan Fuel Cell America. This role combined his vast experience of solving commodity and supply challenges as well as his knowledge of energy assets.
Now, Mr. Beck serves as Director with Kinect Energy Group providing critical advisory services to clients ranging from Fortune 500 clients to public school districts. These services include procurement, sustainability resiliency and wholesale market participation. He has proudly represented AEE as a Certified Energy Manager for 20 years and now serves as Treasurer and Vice President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter. He has a BS degree from Penn State University in Operations Management and an MBA degree from Saint Francis University.
